Financial Arrangements and Fees
Non-Profit Status
As a Charitable Trust, the Home of Comfort operates on a non-profit basis. All funds generated are used exclusively for the care of our residents and the day-to-day running of the Home, ensuring that our focus remains on providing the highest quality care and support.
Fee Structure
For detailed information about our current fees, please contact us directly. We request that fees are paid monthly by standing order for your convenience. Please note that any 'Single band Funded Nursing Care' payment awarded is paid directly to the Home in addition to our standard rates.
Funding Options
We accept residents whose care is funded through various means:
Continuing Healthcare (CHC): We welcome residents whose care is being funded by the NHS under the Continuing Healthcare scheme.
Social Care Funding: Residents who qualify for Social Care funding are accepted, provided that their funding authority agrees to pay a rate equal to or above 80% of our self-funding rate. If the authority's funding falls below this threshold, we charge a 'top-up' fee to ensure that the rate meets this minimum level.
Self-Funding: Most of our clients are self-funding, and the client's local authority will assess their entitlement to care funding support.
Additional Charges
While most costs are included in our fees, please be aware that extra charges apply for certain services such as hairdressing, chiropody, and newspaper delivery. The Home will also charge a fee if a member of staff is required to accompany a resident to a medical appointment. Residents who wish to have a personal telephone line are responsible for the installation and ongoing costs associated with this service.
Discussing Your Options
We understand that the system of funding for social and nursing care can be complex. We invite potential residents and their families to visit the Home and meet with our Administration Manager to discuss their specific circumstances and explore the various funding options available.
At the Home of Comfort, we are committed to providing transparent and personalized financial guidance to ensure that our residents receive the care they need in a manner that best suits their individual situation.
