The House

Home of Comfort is a 29 bed roomed house of mixed age, set in attractive gardens.

Our bedrooms are all single, simply and tastefully decorated and furnished. Profiling beds and pressure relieving mattresses are available for all residents according to need. There is a nurse call system throughout the Home.

We have two wet-rooms and two bathrooms with lifting baths, plus two bedrooms with their own ensuite shower room.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms with photographs, pictures, ornaments and small items of furniture. They may also chose to have their own telephone line installed if they wish.

The house has a peaceful sunny conservatory which offers a good view of the garden, and a busier dining room where communal activities take place. A small quiet lounge is also available for meetings and private parties.

All of our food is prepared in house by our qualified chef to provide nutritionally balanced wholesome meals. All dietary needs can be catered for.

The Home offers an in-house laundry service. Hairdressing, manicure and chiropody services are all available on site. Newspapers can be delivered if requested. A monthly communion service, conducted by a local vicar, is held at the Home, to which all denominations are welcome.

There are no specific visiting times although visitors to the Home are encouraged to consider the preferences and routines of the individual they are coming to see. Pets and children are welcomed.

Activities

Our dedicated activities co-ordinator Stephanie provides a wide range of communal activities designed to encourage physical and mental well-being, including singing, games, reminiscence, bingo and a monthly movie afternoon, and uses external entertainers to complement these. A schedule is published in the Home's monthly newsletter, and visitors are always welcome.

Stephanie also conducts one-to-one sessions with individual residents, and can arrange outings for those who enjoy getting out and about.
