Financial Arrangements and Fees

As a Charitable Trust, the Home of Comfort is a non profit making organisation. All funds generated are used for the care of the residents and the day to day running of the Home.

The Home's standard fees (as from April 2020) are £114.45 per night (which is £801.15 per week or £3481.19 per calendar month), and we ask that these are paid monthly by standing order. For respite care our fees are slightly higher at £120.51 per night. Please note that any 'Single band Funded Nursing Care' payment awarded is paid directly to the Home in addition to these rates.

We accept residents whose care is being funded by the NHS under the Continuing Healthcare scheme. Residents who qualify for Social Care funding are accepted providing that their funding authority agrees to pay a rate equal to or above 80% of our self-funding rate; if not, we charge a 'top up' fee to bring the rate up to this level.

Nearly all costs are included in our fees, but extra charges apply for services such as hairdressing and chiropody and for the delivery of newspapers. The Home will also make a charge if a member of staff is required to accompany a resident to a medical appointment. Residents who wish to have their own telephone line are responsible for the installation and ongoing costs for this.

The system of funding for social and nursing care is complex and potential residents and their families are welcome to come to see the Home's Administration Manager to discuss their particular circumstances.
